You just need to look at you kit with an Editing Eye ......

Make it as Versatile as you can .  Then your set up for easy up grades later.

I made a Blaster out of a Sweet base pistol once ...... Then I modded the Sheebs out of it .
It looked fine , but was not fun to carry all the Time .  I tried to make a Holster for it , and Failed.
I tried to make a Sling for it , but the Screws kept coming out. (thin plastic) I tried to Disassemble it to
Reinforce these areas and Destroyed it in the Process ....... I wish I had it to do all over again .
With what I know now about Costuming and Prop building it would be so obvious where to start.
But I was very Shinny when I made it so ...... live and learn.  Not to mention I destroyed it in a fit of Rage.
Also destroying several Cool Greeblies and some "now hard to get electronics" in the process.

I'm just trying to help you not make the Mistakes I made .
Sometimes you need to Think ahead , then Work backward to reach your Goal ..... [ConDar Ward] 8)

Thanks so much vod!
I constantly judge my efforts
Whether it be through a low self esteem thing or whatever
But I always do my best to look objectively at my efforts
And in all honesty I look at things I make in a "how could this work?" way
I hadn't thought of attaching a sling to it
Probably would be a good idea in the long run hehe

As far as that quote goes
It's awesome!!
It should be your signature! :P

Ok so I'm waiting until I get the armour sorted so I can paint the armour and the blaster in the one go.
However I have picked up on a fun wee project, being a grenade :)
Made out of a printer toner (the -censored- end of the one I butchered for my blaster barrel :) )
So yeah, not 100% on the paint work, but hey it can always be modded if necessary.
Was more something to work on and see if I could do it :)
Took me 2 nights to complete
Onto the pics!!

As I said I'm not sure if I've kinda ruined it at the painting stage.
The light goes steady on, flashes fast, and flashes slow :)

FINALLY another update!!!
Took a mad turn and decided to paint my blaster, regardless of the fact it's raining and gusting about 25-30mph :P
My awesome painting booth = cardboard box + wheelie bin + 2 sash cramps to weigh the box down.

Onto the pics!!!

Patching the hole at the bottom where the ammo cartridge used to go in

Next Steps: waiting on the paint drying (gonna give it a few days), drybrush silver, attach blades :P

On the wee front bit? When the blades go on they'll be covered :)

Just a wee update.
The paints still a wee bit sticky, but it's getting there.
Just placed the blades to show how it'll look.
Drybrushing up next hehe.

Awesomely enough, the moving parts (the adjustable stock, the shotgun-esque loading slide) all still move :)
So I reckon it's all in all gonna be a pretty fun weapon hehe

That, sir, looks awesome.

A suggestion if I may - you mentioned about having the green acrylic glowing at some point. What if you sand just the edges of the blades til all the silver paint is gone, then put LED's at the base of them? From the sides they would still look pretty much as they do now, but from anything BUT a completely side on shot the edges would glow.

Hope that makes sense :P

Such a good idea!!! Makes perfect sense vod :)

I'm thinking that since this is my first mod, I'll keep it kinda simple with regards to electronics, but for my sidearms, I have a funny feeling that WILL be happening :P

Do you reckon the blaster is approvable?

Probably? I can still tell what the stock is and what the handle is, but your hand covers the handle and that style of stock has been seen on many other weapons, some real as well.

An app team member would be able to say for sure but I'd pass it if I were one of them.

Not bad, Although that stock is easily recocniseable as a real world stock. However, would it pass?, Possibly, but i would recomend you disguised it a bit. Change the shape or completley seal it.  ;)
