Ok!
Used my dad's dremel and had at it :)
The names are all off
Although as it was my first time using a dremel there's a wee bit, erm, "unintentional battle damage"

A wee bit battle damage....

As always, if you want full-sized pics, here ya go : http://coreyfeldmanistheshit.tumblr.com/post/11472943736/names-off-prepped-for-paint-sorted-albeit

Sorted :)
Now I need advice
What sorta paint should I use?
Not too fussed on brand, more type i.e. enamel, acrylic, satin
Cheers guys! :)

Give it a light sanding all over then a few light coat's of primer or use a self etching primer. The whatever paint ye want ! Just remember to use light coat's and 15mins between coat's.

Gonna drill them and either use rivets with glue on them, and leave it like that, or I have spikes I can put over the heads of the rivets to make it look more bludgeon-y :)

Careful with the spike idea. you don't want to accidently wave your gun around and catch a kid with them.  ;)

Lightly assemble it , then Check for Fit and Function . Then Edit .

Are there any parts that might get caught on stuff ?
Corners , sharp edges(Other than obviously the blades) etc. (Sand or Remove)

Slings or Holsters .

If your Weapon is going to have a Sling ....Where will it be ?
on top or Bottom ?   Reinforce this Area
You could insert  "Eye Screws" in these areas into a piece of wood Hidden inside your Weapon.

If it's a pistol , Will it fit in & Draw Cleanly from a Holster with all the Greeblies in place ?
If Not , EDIT .

Will your Weapon be able to Break down ? (Disassemble)  Add set screws in these areas .
Then if You Decide to Travel with it , it will pack up nicely in a Smaller box .
i.e.  Removable :  Stock , Barrel , blades , etc.

That's all .....  8)

Ah riiiight! In that case I'll make the blades removable :)

You just need to look at you kit with an Editing Eye ......

Make it as Versatile as you can .  Then your set up for easy up grades later.

I made a Blaster out of a Sweet base pistol once ...... Then I modded the Sheebs out of it .
It looked fine , but was not fun to carry all the Time .  I tried to make a Holster for it , and Failed.
I tried to make a Sling for it , but the Screws kept coming out. (thin plastic) I tried to Disassemble it to
Reinforce these areas and Destroyed it in the Process ....... I wish I had it to do all over again .
With what I know now about Costuming and Prop building it would be so obvious where to start.
But I was very Shinny when I made it so ...... live and learn.  Not to mention I destroyed it in a fit of Rage.
Also destroying several Cool Greeblies and some "now hard to get electronics" in the process.

I'm just trying to help you not make the Mistakes I made .
Sometimes you need to Think ahead , then Work backward to reach your Goal ..... [ConDar Ward] 8)
