So I've decided to scratch-build a Jet Pack for my Jodo Kast project. I was in the process of attempting to re-vamp a Rubies JP, ad had made decent progress, but it's just not as crisp as I would like it to be.
  after trooping with Saint Nasty and seeing his Fett up close and personal, I just couldn't bring myself to troop anything that wasn't top notch quality.

so here's what Ive got so far: I"ve only had two days into it so far, and that's been spent cutting out the main parts of the body. I"ve still got to cut out the back portion, and I expect to be doing that tomorrow. it's slow and tedious work, but precision is Key.


and for referance, here's the Rubies I had been working on... I intend to finish it some day, but for now it's just going to sit on the back burner.

it's made from foam-core poster board. I'm going to be filling all the seams in with bondo after it's all put together.

Great work so far! Are you basically treating it like pepakura then? Depending on how much time it takes you, I may decide to do one myself. Looking great vod! Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see the finished product!

I'm not sure if I am or not...  but the foam bord, if not cut all the way through, allows for the tempate to be shaped with ease. the tough part so far is making the smaller parts. lots of detail cutting, takes 15 minutes just to cut out the parts

thanks for that bro... I'm wanting to make more progress, but Darth Life has got me in a choke hold just now. I've beenworking a TON of 12 hour shifts at my new job... needless to say, that doesn't leave much time for anything else. soon though!
