Another night, another 20 minutes or so working on him!



The red areas are the major spots that still need shaping. The taper on the front of the T is all wacky, and one side of the visor area is a bit wider than the other.

As far as runs go... I don't do them myself, but usually find someone else to take the mold and handle that sort of thing. I don't have the attention span, and the $50 or so I can make per helmet isn't enough to motivate me for long.

LOL... thanks Adenn but, I know that STG typically puts these molds into the VERY capable and trustworthy hands of his WCA affliates! They kick out some GREAT stuff!

Although I gotta say, iwould lobve one of these on my display shelf!

might be the ear cap but it looks sorta lopsided, the bottom cheek thing on the left side (facing it) seems over extended.

You are correct... The boba helmet that this originated from was one of the fairly accurate ones... Meaning it is really asymmetrical. The whole left side is a bit bigger than the right. I need to work on that a bit more still.

Face wonkyness (I hope) fixed!

I did some measuring and found the visor to be about 1/8" off center (The leftmost blue line is the correct one. The other one the ruler slipped.)



A quick bit of Dremel work and some epoxy putty moved the visor:



I still have to fix the cheeks below the visor, but wanted to wait until the epoxy was cured before I messed with it.

I did a few more adjustments to the helmet left side tonight. I'm working on this and a new tongue for Jabba the Hutt at the same time which is making things even slower than they could be. But the tongue is seriously gross now.

Oh, Jabba's tongue. Nice work on the Vizsla helmet Brian! Another of those projects that'll come out looking fabulous and make the rest of us all look like slackers that never get anything done . One of these days, we're gonna have to organize a Death Watch build so we can start on your army.

I finished up the visor mods and moved on to the cheeks today. Lots of digital assistance via photoshop to figure out how to fix the left cheek, but I've got it now!
