I actually have started work already on my helmet, and I'm pretty confident in my sewing skills to make my vest and neck seal. The color scheme I'm thinking will be a khaki color for the main with a subdued burgundy red with gunmetal accents. My thought is this is a desert mando and he will be weathered appropriately to match. I don't have it drawn in, but I will be doing a backpack/jet pack of some kind. Any thoughts on the design? The gauntlets and helmet are subject to change as time goes on-i had some thoughts on a bucket that were somewhere between the mcq concept and a sith stalker, but I'm not sold on it entirely

And the work on the helmet- it's actually father along than this but i dont have pics. It's almost done with bondo actually

Yea, it was a concept I played with a lot but I cant think of a way to make it work how I want it to. I don't want to cut the t visor short and all the concepts that I made where it split the rebreather just looked like too much stuff pasted onto a mando head. The full body concept was my last design with the traditional helm, and if I modify it in any way will be much more subtle than a rebreather.

Yes, that's usually how it works out. Its hard to incorporate something that doesn't belong on a mando helmet.

Did a real quick Color concept tonight- forgive the cheesy Colorado job, I did it on my kindle not in photoshop since I'm on vacation. Anything that looks purple is really supposed to be dark grey. Comments and criticism are why I'm here!

Yep looks good. Nothing looks better than a straight up Mando helmet. Besides rebreathers and such are supposed to be built into them. I can never understand why someone would want to do a Mando and change the helmet, Afterall it's the iconic piece we all fell in love with.   ;)

Out of state until the 22nd so I don't get to show off just yet. I'm going to get that helmet evened out and smoothed then I need to make my garage into a suitable work space, as right now I'm doing all my bondo work on a tall cardboard box. A dedicated work area will greatly increase the consistency of my work, and the wife gave me a decent sized budget for it too.

So-work is coming but just not yet.

Progress progress! So I'm at work tonight and managed to sneak some time for myself- this helmet is light years from being done, but I threw some primer on it to see where my mandibles were at. Sorry for crap image quality, my phone is terrible in low light and this monster stinks like resin and paint too bad to bring in.

Lots of nasty spots in the bondo stil, I scratch built the dome and have been just focusing on getting it symmetrical. One more stubborn spot and its there.

Dont let these guys scare you away fron a rebreather if you really want it. They are canon in the comics. There are ALOT of Boba / Jango purist in the club that dont like to expand on the Fett look. However if you go with it take the time to make it look really good because you will have heavy critiques. Its your armor.....Your concepts are great.

Rebreathers on mandalorians are not canon. I've yet to find a picture of one that's not from deviant art. Not trying to sound like a jerk, but I just want members to know that its false.

On the other hand... rebreathers on sith and other folk is canon.

And Dral, you are right in some ways. I am a purist, but not all here are. That's why this is a "custom" mando club, not a Jango or Boba repaint club. Most people who are official members have a custom part that's not straight off a screen accurate costume. Look at Mandalor... If that doesn't tell you something, I don't know what will.

They are. Just not in the Modern Era. So what you said is true... from a certain point of view.

I think we are talking about the big sith style rebreather on the front of a helmet, not little hoses or tubes coming out the side.

I did state that they are canon in the comics and yes as Falin has stated they are not modern era Mandalorians. They are more than little hoses on the side. There are a few examples of large rebreathers on the front of the helmets. Research.......
