Not sure about the rear panel tho... I like it as is. 
Thinking I may leave it as is... Once I built the back panels, kind of feels like I have a tail! LOL!

That kama looks good man. My personal opinion is that it would look better if you moved the two panels closer together at the back, to close the gap. Like Kelan I'm not a fan of the idea of adding a third panel. I think that would detract from it

I may do this... I would require that I relocate the belt & buckle out about an inch each and relocate the tabs that overlap in the middle to hide the holes from the rivets in the leather.
Aye, methinks larger panels covering the back would look better! Still, looks awesome 
I was wondering though, how did you do the girth belt? Is it just layered strips sewn together?
The girth belt is made the same way I made my neck seal it is actually 1 piece of fabric sewn into a tube then ironed flat at the bottom edge, sewn down at 1 1/2", overlapped 1/2", ironed, sewn 1 1/2" up from bottom of fold, repeat, repeat, repeat...
kinda looks like this from the side if you fold the flaps up:
