Cybernetic eyepatch

Well, I'm not honestly sure if this is where this goes, but it seems right.

So I was watching Episode II when I couldn't help but notice Captain Tyhpo's eye patch.
[/img]

I thought to myself "Hey, that looks pretty cool, maybe I'll do something like that for my kit!" So I went ahead and made an eyepatch template and did a bit of trimming to make it the right size and fit and then transferred it to a piece of sintra. But I still wanted to be able to have SOME depth perception, So I decided to make it seem like a kind of cybernetic attachment.

I cut out a small circle form the etxra sintra and drilled a hole through the center. I made the details in the "eye" similar to a camera's shutters, simply carving a line with an exacto knife. heated everything up and bent it to the correct shape (note, if you sand down one side's corners on the Sintra, The plastic will actually give you a nice little convex curve to it on the side you sanded down the corners on). In the center of the eye, I put a small eyelet and set that in to give it an extra raised area and it also gives it some extra stability around the shutter details that expanded when I shaped the eye. I cut out a bit of extra welding shield I had lying around from my helmet and stuck it in the eye so My actual eye isn't visible. Glued everything together with some small detailing and paint and voila:

(whos that handsome devil? :P)
I actually have pretty good vision through it too. Just stick it on with some prosthetic adhesive and it works like a charm.

It's a quick, fun little creation. Post pics if you get around to making one, I'd love to see how other folks take to this.  ;D

How does it stand-up with you taking and putting on your helmet?

it stays put, my helmet is pretty roomy and the patch hugs my face well, so it doesn't pose a problem when I put on or take off my helmet. It doesn't get caught on anything and I have yet to have a problem with it falling off while in or out of the helmet either. :)

Considering the size, It's actually pretty good. I have vision out of both eyes and the view through my helmet is pretty much the same. only thing is that I can't really see through the side of it  not much I can do there I'm afraid.

I was thinking of doing a cybernetic eye and some massive battle damage to the bucket.

Do you have any problem with one eye seeing the world darker then the other?
disorientation or the like.

I dont usually have a problem with disorientation with it on, and one eye sees the world slightly darker but it really hasn't been a problem that has bothered me much.
