Hoods are usually a controversial topic on the forums  I mean, its acceptable but why would you need one when you have such a sweet helmet? Especially at that price, that's steep.

most medieval hoods (try googling medieval archer hood) I came across are around $30, so $55 is a little more then what I would pay.

Hoods aren't really that controversial. Some things were taken out of context a little bit ago and caused some drama, but its all in the past now....

Here is my thought on the hood:

In Universe: What would the purpose be? To keep the rain off your head? The wind/sand/sun out of your eyes? That's what the helmet already does. If you want to go incognito: Take the helmet, and the rest of the armor off.

In real life: Same as in universe ideas, but add to it these things: Why would you want to cover up something you spent so much time and effort to look awesome? It's very possibly going to add a lot of heat, by reducing airflow.

As far as adding mystery: Your face is hidden inside of a helmet. You can't see in from the outside. What more mystery do you need?

Please, let's not have another of those threads...
If he wants to have a hood, then let him.

I'd think that you could make a hood and weather it yourself for less than the price of what that's asking. Plus it'd be more fun. :)

Actually the OP asked for an opinion. That's what these threads are for. You are right in the fact that he can wear one. I was giving him an argument for why he shouldn't

Keep in mind that for your application photos you'll have to have the hood (which is not required) off, to show the helmet, which IS required.

My wife's been writing historical fiction and thus has been doing a lot of research, which has turned up one good reason for a cloth covering:  Exactly the same reason the Templars, Turks, and Saracens used cloth wraps during the Crusades, so the sun doesn't turn a metal helm into an oven for your thinkybox.  There's your good in-universe reason.  Now, that wouldn't make sense unless the rest of the kit looked in place in a desert, so do with that what you will.

Ill just leave this here.

http://mandalorianmercs.org/forum/index.php?topic=11927.msg174625#msg174625

I trust individual costumers can form their own opinion on what is right for their own kit and build accordingly.
