I may be mistaken, but I'm fairly sure all the Brigade sigils (canon, legends, and custom brigades) are black and white. I do not believe any require specific coloring. The exception being the Medic brigade which requires the sigil in red on a white shoulder bell. I admire the thought behind your proposal and it's worth discussing, but to keep Protectors in line with all the other brigades, I personally would recommend we keep it black and white with the option to have it paint in red if the member so wishes.

Fair points! I definitely think it should be up to the individual member to paint it on the keep in either color but technically for the brigades itself the all black coloring is not actually canon/legends accurate. I was just thinking for the most canon/legends accurate information on the actual BRLs, it would make the most sense to have the comic accurate sigil with colorings be listed on the BRL. Though honestly placing both there with a little caveat might make the most sense.

I'm going to bump this some more as I have seen more MMCC building towards Protector kits that have been painting the sigil in the reverse colorings. Where they are painting the black area on the shown brigade sigil red and leaving the white part white. Where in fact the comic accurate colors are the black part should be white while the white part should be red.

Primary examples are below. As you can see in the pictures of both Boba and Tobbi, the "pacman" shape is red while the outer section with the "bump out" and border is white.

Though the action figures were not super close to the comic versions the Tobbi Dala got the shoulder sigils correct on the figure.

Based on this info and what Ive been gathering historically, I think we allow for a variety of Comic accurate and Brigade standard colorations.

Match one of the variety linked above AND the standard Black/White that has been around for a while.

Black on White background
Red on White Background
Outlines can vary if black outlines are needed to seaparate white from armor and red from white.

I would agree since like it was mentioned previously, the standard brigade sigils for the MMCC are apparently all black and white (though honestly, I might suggest reversing the current black and white brigade sigil because if we were to just make the comic accurate sigil black and white, the "pacman" should be the black part while the outside rim with the "bump" would stay white)
 
But I think if people are wanting to go the colored sigil route of white and red, I feel like if we are holding ourselves to the comic accurate appearances, need to be done in the correct manner moving forward when it comes to guiding or helping new Protectors join the ranks (as obviously doing it with current members would require a lot of shoulder armor repaints).
