I may need some direction in this. The way it is set up has some elements of light armor and some of heavy. Given the choice i would go with light for more maneuverability. The sword i carry is more of a placeholder since i don't at the moment have anything better.

Light versus medium versus heavy is more a matter of how much than specific elements.

As this character has a canon reference you should probably use that as a basis. There are also a couple WIPs out there for these characters. Look up Dingo Largo, he has a "diagonal handprint" build going on.
