Soft part shenanigans,with a question
« on: Jul 28, 2013, 12:49 PM »
So here are my softparts so far I still need to finish under my arms but here it is so far!

So my question is this, How do I prevent bunching(like seen in the pic) in the corners by my shoulders? I was thinking it has to do with the fact that my sleeves on the flightsuit are larger then the openings on the vest and if so, if they were expanded it would go away but I figured should ask first before I hacked up my vest :o and even with it bunched would it still be a problem when armors attached?

and my girth belt

and like always comments criticisms welcome!!!

Fixing the bunching will just come down to tailoring the vest to fit you. It looks like the seam is flat currently, but remember that your shoulders actually slope downwards so that needs to be accounted for :)

I used just a basic parachute clip for my girth belt and a bit of leather stitched on to the rings on the girth.

I agree with Tracyn, if the shoulder pieces are cut on an angle or slant they will lay better.

These are my vest pattern pieces, you can see that the shoulders aren't cut straight across like yours seem to be.

Also your arm hole openings seem to be pretty small. They need to be bigger then the sleeve opening on your flightsuit. This is also probably causing some of that bunching when you move your arms up.

More like this.

Hope that helps. ;)

It think if you bring the "Red" seem down your arm a bit it would allow the "blue" seem to drop, getting rid of the bunching
