Micro RC rangefinder
« on: May 01, 2014, 01:03 PM »
I have a rather simple question. Will any micro RC work for the wireless RC servo rangefinder? My local radio shack does not have zip zaps so I was going to use whatever I could find instead. There isn't anything special about the zip zap, is there? I just need a board that will control the servo when I press the appropriate button on the controller board, correct?

Thanks guys. I'm not the most tech savy guy. But I'm pretty confident I can get this to work, just not sure if there was something special about the zip zap.

Any of them would work, the tutorial used zip zaps due to how cheap they were when the guide was written.

Thanks. Sold me. Zip zaps are spensive McDuck status now. At least, the only ones I find for sale are the collectable ones. Appreciate it. I'll be putting it together soon with that in mind.

Ya, I think they stopped making them a few years back. So, as with anything that isn't being made any more, prices went up lol

I actually came across zip zaps on Amazon, anywhere from $6-$40  ;D
