Evenin all! Another update from sunny England...

My brothers helmet has now also made significant progress, see below:







So all that's left is to finish his rangefinder and bolt it to his head..

The final final step will be tidying the interior of the helmet:





Currently my brothers is lined with foam and some spare helmet pads. Its comfy as anything, I just need to find a better way of securing the foam  into the lid.

My inner is somewhat more military and realistic however:







It's an old surplus tank drivers helmet, heavily modified to fit. I also now have an intercom in mine, with the aim being to chat hands free with my brother in his kit. works perfectly, if quite heavy... but as k.skirata once said, 'heavy is best' 😉

So only a few more posts to go in this WIP, painting and attaching the rangefinder and tidying the foam Hope you like them!

Oh, also - The colours are the same with the black and white inverted, both to give us a sniper spotter unit feel, and because we're also going to have a mando take on the yin yan symbol on our armor

Afternoon All, from an England that was actually a little sunny today, allowing some painting!

Got my brothers helmets rangefinder together for him. Added some metal reinforcement, Firstly this is to stop it flexing and drooping with temperature and time. Secondly as he's my spotter, having a fancy rangefinder makes sense





It just needs weathering and assembling now.

Hey Guys n Gals, Sorry about the long gap between posts, but I've finally got some nice photos of the finished article

I really hope you all like it..

And the inside - now has skullcandy speakers for listening to tunes or the intercom between by brother and my helmets. I can also have the intercom in one ear and music in the other if I want. I did try installing some fans too, but ran out of room...

It's an old suprlus tank driver helmet. The whole helmet (trimmed a little to fit) is wedged in there. So this helmet actually has a degree of protection to it

It's very hefty... i think it weights in at just over 5lbs...

It's temporary until I rig a proper holder and a switch. Condensation is a minor worry considering it's currently its possible to lick the 9 volt battery... safe

Really love the paint on that bucket. Might do something like that on mine. And is using a shemagh for a neck seal okay? If it I might use one.
