This is for Dynas. Trying to leverage the tutorial I just posted on the Pulsing LED

What about something like this?

I Have the tube and can get a cap. i was thinking if just having the light at the bottom of the tube poling out so you do not see the the plastic support beam with the wiring. What sort of parts are we talking? Power supply?

The parts list on the Pulsing LED are the electronic parts, plus a stripboard or perfboard (or we can probably do something not mounted to a stripboard if you like to live dangerously). All the parts are available at Fry's or Amazon. A 9v battery should be fine.

What color? Red? I have a metric ton of ultra bright green LEDs (2.2 volt, 20 mA)

If we build the clear acrylic part like a "combat lightsaber" blade, we can mount that thing anywhere (light at one end, reflective surface at the other, and some kind of material as a "diffuser" (like cellophane roll wrap). Optionally, there's some lens covers for guitar amps we can use (Zophar Ptay posted a link on this forum): http://www.turretboards.com/lamps_lenses.htm

Aha! Gotcha. Yeah, I'm sure Jaelie will want one also for her backpack. Keep watching this spot (though I might have to wait until after Phoenix Comic-Con since I'm at maximum effort getting 3 sets of beskar ready)

Now that I see what you've got in mind, maybe 2 AAA batteries would be better (smaller/cheaper to replace)

You could get away with a single ultra bright LED poking through the bottom reflector and 2 x AA (or AAA) to power it
