I have been playing with ideas and actually started on my helmet.  Since this is the area of all the specialists in this area, I decided I should post a WIP here too. 

Sketches (main idea still same but a few things have changed, just haven't changed the sketch)



I'm not doing the side horns at all.  That is probably the main things that has changed.  Of course the helmet will evolve as I work on it and make it to my liking. 

Helmet


A few things will change after I get it fiber glassed and apply and sand the bondo.  The top of the visor is going to be moved up and the dip in the center is no longer going to be there.  The lines you see were only for getting a general idea for it.  They will most likely change when I go to do it.

Will post more after I get the helmet fiber glassed and bondo applied.  Then I can fully decide where to put the visor and finalize my lines.

Update on concept with color.  YAY!!  The armor will pretty much stay the same.  The helmet may change a bit as the build process continues and the backpack could change as well.  Not sure on the full back pack concept yet.

Front and finally a back drawing.  Early crusaders don't usually have greens so I only had the outside of the cape be green.  She is a beast hunter so green would help with the hunt.
Her main weapon is a sniper rifle which you see strapped to her back.

Something like this old republic rifle.  The one on the top to be specific.
She also carries a knife on her left thigh for close combat.  In her pack you could find traps, bait and of course food and water for her.


Helmet front and back.  The helmet won't change too much.  I like the design a lot!

Most of the material is a medium cotton that is durable.  The cape is suede on the outside and the same cotton material on the inside

I am going to use matt board or card board base then fiberglass and then bondo to create the bone look.

I originally was going to do sintra but with needing to add bondo to get the bone look I decided it would get too heavy and making everything from scratch would be lighter.

Seugtai is the original Early Crusader and she set the bar awfully high.  Adenn is a WIP but he is doing his entirely fiberglassed as well.  My kit is all fiberglass built on a cardstock/cardboard form as well but it is late crusader so I have a smoothe metallic finish, not a bone look.

Thanks a bunch.  I have seen Seugtai's.  It's won't be my first time fiber-glassing or using bondo.  It is just going to be a lot of work when I get to that point.  Thanks for all of the helpful suggestions and pointers!  I will for sure use them.

Well I came across the boots I had purchased for this kit and realized I never posted a picture.  Here they are.  Besides needing to cover the remaining section of the laces I think they will look awesome for my Early crusader beast hunter!


Only decision needed now for them is do I do a armor piece or a spat to cover the remaining section of laces.

Fiberglassed the helmet!  Letting it finish curing for a night and may start sanding tomorrow.
After that, check to see if it needs anymore fiberglass and then bondo and lots of it to get the look I want.

  I just realized I better start working on the claws that I want to go on it so when I get to that stage of bondo I can get them set in.
