Yeah. ... I wanted it bombproof.   I glassed off the edges then trimmed for the lower layers and the last layer wrapped to cover any overhang.    I never sanded the edges thinking it might delaminate the layers.   I used a pressing motion rather than a stroke.

How did you get the wrapped over layer to stay? Mine kept forming bubbles in between.

Try putting some resin on the back side, then the front, then press the cloth into the front and wait a minute or two for the back to get a little tacky.  Press it into the back then brush inward so it pulls tight against the side.

Ok! I just assembled the improved chest piece. The width of the front part is smaller for arm mobility, I've also reduced the height so that the rib section hugs just above the solar plexus. All in all, it fits like a glove,

The straps are connected but I'm leaving the rib sections unconnected, the clips are there to make sure the armour holds its shape while I'm fibreglassing it.

Looks like a solid plan.  Now that I am OM, I have two 9 the kits to finish but I want to take another stab at a one-piece for this one.   I like the look of yours.  One thing I will addo is that those sharp points/angles will be very hard to remover or hide once the fiberglass goes on.   If it your plan to have a nice flowing curve, you will want a higher poly model.

Yeah, it originally had two times the amount of poly's in the model because I wanted a really smooth gradiant, but I've come across cereal killer's tutorial on youtube and he just files the jutting points and puts some hot glue over it to protect the exposed paper fibres and then bondo. Granted it will probably weaken the armor, but Iwas thinking after filling it, I add an extra piece of fibreglass, that way, the curve will look smooth and it'll be protected.

here's the tutorial he did,

Just another question though, I see some people fibreglassing the inside or the outside exclusively, is there a reason or is it just personal preference?

Personal preference. I for one always do the outside, but most do the inside. But always resin both sides.  ;)

Ahh ok, I thought it was due to the sanding or something, cuz it does make sense to 'glass inside and sand the outside if you don't have a ventilated space or if you want to minimize the amount of hazard particles or somethin'

That wasy thinking.    I used cloth on the inside only and many layers of resin outside to get it as smooth as possible before bondo.   I do find that there are clear wear spots and nicks in the finish already and I haven't even trooped it yet so perhaps a layer of cloth outside would have added to the strength of the final finish.
