Hello Everyone,

  i would really appreciate some feedback on my idea for my first armour build, this will be a Legacy inspired suit while still retaining the iconic T visor and 3 plate armour chest.

below is a rough (sorry i suck at MS Paint)  idea for a colour scheme and modified chest plates, the rest of the plates would follow the same theme with more of a angular look.

Nice plate design.  Draw out some paper templates to test-fit before cutting plates.  Don't forget to include a collar plate- Mandalorian armor is a four plate design, not three.

What are you planning to build your plates out of?  Sintra?  PVC?  Metal?

What Cin said, that collar really makes or breaks a lot of designs, especially in placement and spacing.

Thanks for the feedback i hadn't really thought of the collar i was just going to use the Jango template, Looking at the Jango template however it doesn't really fit so i have came up with the design on the right.





I will be building this out of Sintra once i have made and spaced card templates correctly since i have sheets of it laying around currently.

Very nice. You can definitely see the Legacy influence in to the standard Boba/Jango design I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I can't see why they wouldn't work. Maybe remove the pull straps, but yeah, they look good.

Those are both fine.  That visor is good.  I would say calling it "transitional" would be a long shot. since your armor is decidedly modern.  just angled.  RKD Alpha armor.  No longer produced.  What I wear.  THAT is transitional modern to Legacy.  It's cool though.  looking forward to these ideas becoming a tangible product.

Boots look good. Personally not a fan of the helmet visor design, but I know a lot of people do like that style and it is definitely acceptable.
And I have a set of armour that is very close to that concept out in my shed. Did a double take when I saw that  pic.

I agree with the visor thing, purely my opinion, but I think you should either widen the whole visor including the slits, or make the middle triangular part skinnier.

Top slits widened to same dimension as bottom, follows the cheek line more

Not a big fan of the two tone mandos unless it's earthy or battel scared cayse tge it neutralizes it and adds an extra color

That custom chest plate really ties it all together. On the color scheme I'd add one more color to mellow it out some.

Liking the chest plates, maybe trama plate layer to make it look more mean?
design would be good either personal emblem or unit stripes etc.
Helmet visor not keen on, but then I'm a traditionalist with T visors, also Joe public recognizes it better

Instead of steps peaking in the middle, maybe stack one edge and layer down?

Grey and blue looks kinda cool, maybe add the yellow back in for shoulders and unit design?

thats the plan for the yellow, thought about stacking the edge on the chest plates but couldn't decide on which edge would look best

Collar needs trimming to the size you have in the picture and the sides of the plates need to be cut back to fit on your chest without overlap, maybe a massive step of an inch each edge

Just the sides of the collar that need trimming to match the top of the chest plates. Rest looks fine, since I'm presuming the chest plates will wrap around under the arm?

yes thats the plan, tho i plan to trim a bit, will know how much once i've made my vest.

Make them out of card board and then shape them, is the idea for them to completely wrap around you then, not to seat like normal plates?

It's really looking like the edge of the chest plates will hinder movement of your arms. Where they come to a point is in a seemingly inconvenient spot. Perhaps a trim would help, but just keep that in mind. The design reminds me of the galaxies armor though. Also that collar is far too wide as well. Do some more trimming and experimenting and you'll get there
