My "Stubby" Jetpack (Pic Heavy)
« on: Sep 02, 2014, 04:54 PM »
I wanted to try making my Jetpack from scratch using pepakura files printed on card stock.

Enjoy the pics...

Here is the card stock built up.

Pieces after being resin, fiberglass, Bondo, snading and almost finished gluing together.

Harness test after some priming to show where I needed some mode Bondo and sanding.

Primed...

Metallic layer...

Fo-primer and toothpaste masking...

Base coat with blue masking tape and next layer of toothpaste mask...

Top coat...

Mega masking for the red details...

Primary masking removed, but most of the toothpaste mask still in place...

All masking removed, ink wash added and matt clear coat mounted to harness and back plate...

Side view...

Love your pack, sent you a message looking for the source. I'm dying to find a pattern to make one for a Jango costume.
