WIP - Simmy - Holsters (A4 Ring Binder) - Tutorial
« on: Dec 19, 2014, 04:15 PM »
Seen somewhere that some one made a holster out of a ring binder so I thought I'd give it a go. Heer are some progress shots at various stages for those wishing to give it try.

Started with a standard A4 Ring binder.

Traced around the gun, and squared it off, also drew the return flaps on side and bottom.

Cut out a section on the side to allow access to the trigger, and cut around the outline.

Scored along the fold lines, and cut out the two holes for the lower leg support belt.

Covered the outside and inside with faux/fake leather and glued it down, once dry I folded it all together.

Added press stud clips to hold holster together. Used 15mm press studs. Also bought some 20mm faux leather strips to make the clips and a support/leg strap.

Cut additional slots in the back to allow for my belt to pass through it. Removed the thigh strap as its much higher up my leg than I first thought.

And you're done!

Thanks vod. So far cost me around £5/6 ($8/9), excluding glue gun etc.

I'll post more details later, once other parts arrive and I can finish it off.

An excellent, cheap method that looks gorgeous with some Faux leather on it!

I'm tempted to make a Westar 35 now, purely because of how simple and cheap it is - Kandosii Sim'ika!

Thanks. I got my Westars off eBay . A guy moulds them about £17 each I think.
