Question. When I made the cuts on the PVC I am not getting a rounded shape. Its round in the back but more like an oval in the fron. Do you know why that is?

The simple answer is to fit the shape of your forearm.    That way it fits snug from the front to the back.

Great tutorial vod! I want to try this concept with Kydex. I have some spare sheets lying around. I'll take pictures and document the process kinda like you did Kuu. Very nice sir! Thanks!

This tutorial was a lifesaver when it came time to make my gauntlets.  I had a length of 3" PVC that took just one afternoon to turn into funtional gauntlets, and I'm quite happy with how they turned out.  Fantastic way to make your gaunts!

Since the outer diameter is known/regular I was able to easily print and attach a 3D printed topper.

Here's the STL file if you want it.

The hook pin parts I'm a little confused on. Did you take out the pin that was already in the hinge and just create your own hooked one?

Yes, I recycled the pin that was in the piano hinge and bent it after sanding it a little so it wouldn't be so tight (less wasted material this way).

But you could use the correct diameter wire from any source.

Ah, that makes sense! Love this tutorial, heck, it's been like a gift from the gods for me, since I was going to try doing my guants out of sintra, which sounded like a nightmare and a half for me, since I can't seem to find any good templates and the ones that are there are just half the Jango shin plate. I already got the pipe (4 inch) from a Dirk's I live nearby, and hopefully I'll at least have the pieces cut out before I head to an armor party this Saturday.

Awesome tutorial.  Definitely using this instead of my sheet metal attempt.

Got some 4" PVC and some piano hinge, so hoping to get started this weekend.
