Su'cuy Vode!
So before I begin my next major prop build, I decided to tide myself over with a fun little conversion kit. I recently bought a Hasbro E11 for my Vod'ika, and was rather smitten with it...so i bought my own of the holonet:

Nice. After searching around for a little while, I saw that there was a conversion kit made here in the sunny Vok'chi isles, made by doopydoos. Overwhelmed with joy, I bought one straight away! I figure it'll be a nice thing to do until I start my Westar M-5, and a chance to show how the kit comes together!
Once you open your pretty boxes, and make yourself a nice coffee, you'll end up with a living room floor like this:

The nice thing about this kit is that they are accurate casts that are sized to fit OVER the existing blaster. Minimal work is needed (outside of the MMCC standard of filling screwholes and removing logos), you just need to cut off the end of the scope (to replace it with an M38 front end) and the end of the barrel. Use a dremel, but be careful when it comes to the barrel as there is a danger you will slice the wire to the LED. You'll end up with something like this:

At this point, I cleaned up the resin pieces with sandpaper and files, and dry fit a few of the pieces to make sure all was well...very little prep was needed in my opinion, but it doesn't hurt to be thorough!

I won't go through the whole kit (mostly because I got excited and forgot to take pictures) but suffice to say that it's a very straightforward build!

My favourite bit is the back end...the kit comes with a wee metal hoop at the back!

And a shot from the other side:

All in all, a fun build. including the prep and dremel work, the build can be done inside of an hour. I managed to prime it the other night too!

Pictures of the paintwork to follow soon...also planning on acquiring some telephone cabling so I can accurately do the counter-box
