Confused by the templates

I printed out the templates and started moving to the posterboard to make a mock helm and it struck me with one thing. How does one put together the WOF templates to make a paper helmet? I was wondering before I got to far in.

If you're going to make it with cardstock or poster board you'll only need the outside layer for the main helmet. You'll need to use the internal structure for support while you're gluing and resining the helmet. I'd add tabs to a lot of the pieces that glue into the helmet so you have something to attach the pieces with.
