Need advice with visors!!
« on: Apr 19, 2016, 12:12 PM »
Thanks to Headshot Props, I know own a perfect bucket, but when trying to install the visor (window tint film) it keeps wrinkling and try as I might, it never gets super smooth like I've seen on some OM helmets, any advice would be great, thanks!

Go to a welding supply store and get a pre-tinted face shield, and then trim it down to fit your helmet.  You might also be able to find one at Lowe's, Home Depot or another big box store.

I think the #3 tint is dark enough to hide your face, but not so dark that you can't see out of it.

That will save you the time and headache of applying window tint and messing with the bubbles.

Think they mean the pretty shiney stuff. As to that. If you put the tint on the visor and then put a clear semi rigid cover over it it'll stay smooth.

There's a tutorial on doing visors here in the helmet section in the pinned posts that has where you can find the materials and things to add color to the tint and it's fairly inexpensive and if you're doing multiple visors it's awesome.

I usually just purchase a pre-tinted visor.  I've even purchased pre-cut visors before as well.

There is a paint on the market that you can just spay on the visor and see through it. I know of a few who have used it on other projects but have yet to hear about it on a mando kit.

**This is all hear say, I have not used it or seen it in person**
But it would be nice to test.

nightshade spray paint.

I've tried it. It comes off if you're not careful and flexing a visor to install it is liable to make it crack and fall off.
