Making a loincloth
« on: Jul 13, 2015, 09:05 AM »
I need some assistance!!! I'm not as crafty as you guys with a sewing machine.

I made a temporary loincloth for my Mandalorian armour when I had two cons lined up two weekends in a row by basically hanging a strip of cloth around another strip of cloth and tying it to me and hiding the belt part of the cloth under my vest. I'm not sure if I can continue to get away with this method (i.e. have it for approval) so I need help on making a proper loincloth!!!

Any advice would be enormously appreciated!

Pics would really help determine what would need to be done. At the very least I'd pick up a cheap belt to use instead of a strip of cloth. It's entirely possible that doing that could be all you need to make it approvable.

I made a loin cloth using old drapes, weathered how I like... the nice thing is they're already sewn at the top for the curtian rod, grab a webbing belt and boom. Mines hidden, you may want a different type of belt. The webbing belt hides, and has a tiny buckle you won't feel.

I actually made my loin cloth an extension of the flak vest to make it easier to deal with.  Not sure if that might be an option for you or not.  Depends on your set up I guess.  My loin cloth is just the same duck cloth as my vest and I attached some armor to it to make it fit better with my heavy armored look.

He was short and stocky and a little mean!
He carried a BFG and wore heavy armor vest
He liked to make credits, they were the best!
Blasting and hunting were all in good fun,
Especially when the prey did try to run!
Then one day the hutt called him to do a job,
Get a nasty little genosian thief named Bob!
Found and bound fast as a blink that little bug,
He got kriffed on the creds that big fat slug!
So I shot him.  With a proton torpedo." --Bazii
