Great! The kids finally broke a toy gun.  Oops, I mean "sad face - Dad."

Here is the starting point and the EE-3 carbine rifle image.



So the idea is to make it a modified stock version, like a sawed off shut gun.
Here is the beginnings. 
Cut the cylinder out and glued to a piece of PVC pipe.
Then, threw on some paint to get a better visual.

I really like the idea you have! Though, you will need to mod it to not be so Nerf-looking. The Nerf shapes and textures, like the handle and trigger, need to be modded. I've seen a lot of people on her use leather/cloth wraps on Nerf handles. I'd add something on the barrel to make it look like a heavy duty Anakin/Vader lightsaber grip, if you want it to very closely resemble the EE-3. Nice paint job too!

I am planning on adding the leather parts and I am building up the barrel - I need to fabricate the pieces yet.
Have not really thought any further yet.

Good luck, vod!    Walmart has a pretty cheap scope that I got. It might work for you if you want a scope. It's too small to fit on Nerf tactical rails though.

I had some time to kill waiting for my jumpsuit to go through the wash/dry.
Added parts to gun.  Still have a lot of mods to make yet.
