So as of right now, the pieces are being held together with some epoxy putty and these are not in their final state to be painted.I went way overboard on some of the putty and i may have to sand down the front chest pecs, but ill prime it first before attacking it with the sander.
The pieces are based off Pepakura files, I dont have a link available so far, but I got them from this site. Not pictured here is my helm and gauntlets, they are Mocked up right now in paper only as of the moment. im heavily considering attacking the gauntlets that i have together wtih fiberglass fabric and resin; however not sure how well printer paper will hold up to the process. any thoughts on this?

the helmet is ready for my next step, im going to make a mold with plaster and smooth it out to make a final copy out of fiberglass/resin. these materials are easily obtained for me, ill post more pictures of the helmet as i continue that process.

Stay tuned, but dont hold your breath too hard, im a new Dad and i work on this stuff as i get time  :P

If it is regular 20lb paper I can say not well. I have found, and many others can back me up on this, that when pepping use 110 lb card stock. Much more sturdy.

Thanks for the reply, I might do a test run on these then and if it doesn't work I'll start the same casting process I'll do with the helmet

Used the wrong paper for my helmet pepakura so I used great stuff and I'm molding it with plaster of paris, here's before the molding

For the rest of the cowl that reaches my shoulders I'm goingto use a soft material.

Update, so I didn't put a release agent, u thought hitting it with a clear coat of paint was good enough. Do not do this. I smashed the plaster off, the form is still good, great stuff IS great. ..this gave me a new idea for an approach anyway,  pics to come.

I'm with you, vod; I always use 110 lb cardstock when pepping.  Unless it's a "rough draft" just to see how the pep design goes together.

It's cool to see a neo build.  I don't think there are very many of these.

Thanks! Got some more work done, I'll post pics soon.  Current roadblock in this project is getting the materials to start the cowl, and the price of said materials. Anyone know where to buy resin and liquid latex on the cheap?
