This CRL depicts Jaster Mereel as he was seen in Open Seasons. All armor must be made of a solid material such as fiberglass, styrene, urethane rubber, sintra or Vac-formed ABS. Armor must have dimension and give the appearance of thickness and depth according to the visual references of this character. All armor and soft parts must be weathered where indicated in visual references to give the illusion of battle wear and damage.
Helmet
- Helmet must be a standard style Mandalorian helmet with classic “T” shaped visor that obscures the wearer’s face.
- The Helmet ears must feature inset vented ear caps like those seen in the Open Seasons references and also have NO keyslots at the rear of the helmet or indented “turn signal” triangles on the forehead.
- No borden connector is present on the lower right cheek of the helmet.
- Helmet dome, lower cheeks and rear panels must be painted a gunmetal gray. This color must match the chosen color for the armor. Helmet upper cheeks must be a similar color that contrasts darker than the gunmetal gray base color of the helmet.
- The area around the visor of the helmet must be painted red with a slight orange tint.
- Standard modern style rangefinders are required for this character. Rangefinder stalk and topper is painted light brown or tan in color.
BRL Level Approval:
- Helmet rangefinder stalk is made from metal.
Flightsuit
- Full flightsuit is required. No short sleeved flightsuits allowed. The only permitted Legends character from this series permitted with short sleeves is Montross.
- Double sleeved flightsuits are not permitted for use with this character.
- Flightsuit color must be medium gray and cannot have contrasting sleeves. The color of the top, bottom, and sleeves of the flightsuit must match.
- Flightsuit is worn in a relatively loose fashion with some bagginess noted in the arms and sleeves of said suit. This fit is specific to this character and has no bearing on custom CRLs.
Neck Seal
- Neck seal should closely match the flightsuit and flak vest in color and provide a clean transition, obscuring the neck from view into the helmet.
- Neck seal may either be attached to the flak vest or flightsuit and close at the back as there is no apparent seam or closure method in visual references.
BRL Level Approval:
- Neck seal must have a wrinkled appearance.
Capes
- A cape must be worn with this costume.
- The cape may either be worn off the right shoulder or around the neck, partially obscuring the collar plate.
- Cape length should fall to no longer than the back of the knee or fall excessively short than the waist items.
- Cape color is restricted to medium red.
- Cape material should be of a sturdy composition of either duck cloth or canvas and give a tattered appearance.

BRL Level Approval:
- Gloves are made of leather.
Flak Vest
- Vest is of a basic design that closes at the sides, featuring front, back, and side panels fit snugly to the wearer.

- The bottom edge of the flak vest must not be visible and be tucked into the waist items.
Waist Items & Ammunition Belt
- Ammunition belt is a single wide belt that is medium brown in color and made from leather or leather like material. The ammo belt must feature six (6) medium brown pouches made from leather or leather-like material mounted three on either side of the belt buckle.
- Construction of the pouches is of a simple fold over flap style with no discernable closure method.
- Under the ammunition belt is a wide wrinkled looking girth belt also made of leather or leather like material. Color may be the same or slightly darker than that of the ammunition belt.
- The girth belt features angled or rounded ends at the front of the wearer with the two sides connected by a frame style belt buckle that is silver in color.
- For applicants building this character, it is permissible for the waist items to encroach upon the abdominal plate of the armor. This is something specific to characters from Open Seasons and has no bearing on custom CRLs.
- Jaster also features two drop down holsters that connect to either side of the cod plate and have leg straps worn over the thigh plates. Holsters must be brown in color, matching the ammunition belt and must resemble reference images. The holsters are also made of leather or leather-like material.
BRL Level Approval:
- Belt, waist items, and holster are made from leather.
- Belt hardware is made from metal.
Boots
- Must be sturdy style combat boot with aggressive style soles.
- Any laces must be fully covered by the leg of the flight suit and by the boot armor
- Boots color should match the flight or be light to medium grey in color.
Armor
- Armor must be medium configuration. Medium armor configuration consists of a collar, two separate chest plates, a chest diamond, an ab plate, back plate, shoulder plates, thigh plates, cod piece, knee plates, shin plates and boot plates.
- Cod piece and back plate are required. They cannot be substituted by loin cloth or full cape.
- Boba Fett style “thong” is not permitted on this character. Cod piece must sit flush to the builder.
- Armor plate designs for the chest plates, ab plate, thigh plates, knee armor, shin armor and back plate must be sourced from the Open Seasons comic books.
- The mating edge between the chest and ab plates must differ from standard modern plates. For Jaster Mereel, this means the edge must be a smooth continuous curve with no angles or corners. Approximately hemispherical in shape but with a more pronounced center.
- The outside edges of the chest plates must have an inward hemispherical edge. The chest plate fangs must follow along the mating edge and end at the edge of the Ab plate.
- The back plate must be a single solitary piece. Due to the lack of images of back armor on this version of Jaster Mereel, some design variance here is accepted with the approval of the application team.
- Some design variance is accepted of the thigh plates, but overall they are vaguely egg-shaped in appearance with an exaggerated, longer edge on the outside top corner of the plate.
- Knee armor must feature two dart boxes, trapezoidal in shape, on both the inside and outside of the knee plate while the overall design is more angular and sharp than that of the standard modern style knee plate.
- Shin armor is a more exaggerated with angled edges, and sides that slant inward toward the builder the closer to the boot the plate gets.
- Boot plates are trapezoidal in shape.
- Color of the chest armor, chest diamond, cod, thigh, knee, shin, and boot plates must be a gun metal gray and match that of the helmet and weathered to match references.
- Shoulder armor must be painted red with an orange tint to match the helmet mandible color.
BRL Level Approval:

- The top shell of the gauntlet features a flattened appearance.

- Outside of the gauntlet shells must feature a long skinny trapezoid box.
- Jaster Mereel features a gauntlet hose and connector on his right arm. A tapered cone is present on the inside top corner of the gauntlet shell, connected to a hose that is medium gray in color.
- Gauntlets are the same gunmetal gray as the visor color of the helmet.
BRL Level Approval:
- Gauntlet closure method is hidden from view.
- Hoses must give the appearance of having segmented sections.
- Gauntlet construction and weathering will be highly scrutinized to ensure it is done in a manner consistent with the comic books. This includes an excessive amount of realistic dirt and mud.
Sigils
- Optional outward facing triangles “< >” are visible on the chest plates and point out, away from the wearer.
- A shield shaped crest, yellow in color, with a black True Mandalorian skull are featured on both shoulders.
BRL Level Approval:
- Sigils and corresponding shapes are not decals and in fact, painted onto the armor.
Weapons
- Jaster carries a stylized blaster pistol with the following elements.
- Handheld medium sized blaster.

- Optics that are centered in-line with the receiver. Scope must taper inward toward the center of the optics.

- Trigger guard featuring a square frame.
- There are a few different references of the blaster pistol. Builders should closely consult with the application team using visual references from the comics.
Weathering Notes
- Jaster Mereel features two options for weathering. At no time should this costume be clean.
- The options for weathering are as follows;
- Costume can be muddy featuring splatters and smears of mud and dirt in a medium to red brown color heavier at boots. Soft parts should feature caked mud and splatter.
- Costume can be heavily weathered featuring liberal amounts of paint chipping and scratches. Soft parts should feature enough dirt, scuffs and grime to be easily distinguishable against the base soft part.
- The costume should be consistently weathered for either option.
**Addendum: The chest plate requirement is not meant to exclude female members from becoming this version of Jaster Mereel in open seasons. Female-style chest plates that conform to the general appearance/configuration of Fett-style plates are acceptable. The diamond and abdominal plates must be as close to Open Seasons style seen in the comics as possible.
