Well..

At this point in time, your leg armor looks alright.  Will probably be a little different when you get it to the jumpsuit stage

Torso armor -  in general the sizing looks good.  The spacing between chest plates and your collar armor is really tight tho,  i'd suggest shaving down the bottom edge of the collar by about 2cm or so.

The knee looks great!

I dunno how I missed this the first time, but your collar sticks out too far past your chest plates. The bottom corners should be pretty much in line with the top corners of the chest plate. It also looks like the collar almost touches the chest plates when your hunched over. As long as they don't actually overlap, your okay, but you might want to give a hair more space between them.

I like the higher shoulder plates. It kinda looks like the left one is further out, but on closer inspection I think it's actually that your collar plate is too to your right (left in the photo).

I know the positioning isn't set in stone yet, but I'm a detail-oriented person, and i figure it's better to point it out now than have it be missed later. Really, your kit's coming along nicely. Glad to see you're making some progress =)

Thanks to both of you. Yes, I will shave a tiny amount off of the plates and fix that collar. I will try and do that today at some point. Glad the knees look good, too. I made one the other day and it was huge! So I tried again with a smaller template. I will work on those today, too, hopefully. I'm also still trying to figure out my visor....that's been a pain lately. I'll probably end up paying a little extra and buying a #5 face shield. I can't seem to find any in a store near me, and online they are super pricy. I'll keep looking, though.

Here's where I'm at currently. I will sand the cod piece smooth, sand the giant rectangle on the shins, and bondo and smooth part of the knees. I need a little help forming the back, but I managed to get the majority of it right.

Silver paint applied.


Masking fluid applied, as well as a few sprays of various colors for grime, etc.


First layer of Molotow light kiwi applied and more masking fluid. Second layer of Molotow Grasshopper applied.


Before black wash.


After black wash (Molotow black acrylic paint, small amount of water and sanitizer). I made a crap load of scratches and gouges. I have a few decals to add, but the armor is pretty much done. I still need to finish the back plate, though.

I finished what I could actually get done before Oni-Con down here in Galveston, so I stayed up until 12:15AM working on Friday. I feel naked without gaunts and some of the other parts, but it works for now.

Here's what I'm seeing...

- Collar plate could use a little bit more forming.
- Shoulder plates are flaring out a little.
- You seem to have a sash under that belt... It should go over you cod armor to cover the top of it.
- Your thigh plates are on the large side... I'd go down one size.
(also, they seem to be on the wrong side, that "swoop" near the cod armor is supposed to be on the outside. But that's not a problem, as many Mercs wear them that way)

Seems like a lot of stuff, but it's all easy stuff to correct...! You're definitely getting there!!!

You've got a nice kit going on there, I think with the small "corrections" mentioned earlier (plus a neck seal and some gaunts), you'll be ready...!!

There are so many things that need to be fixed. I'm glad I wore it because it was like a test. The thighs are insane, I have to remove them to sit down. But yes, I'll fix things...and get some gaunts going. I feel weird without anything on my arms. Thanks for the feedback, though! Very much appreciated.

Overall not bad Vod i like it and as Kelan pointed out not to much to do.

Id add one thing you knees look like the thighs are touching them a bit its i would drop them just a tad ideally you want them in the middle of the gap between your thighs and shines

Hi again, guys. Here's an update on my current status. I've added many components as you may have seen on the other parts of the forums. I've been very busy trying to finish my kit for Oni-Con 2013 (which was amazing). I entered the costume contest at Oni and won one of the Judges Awards, I made the FRONT PAGE of the newspaper here (hell yes!) and won the costume contest at work. I hope I am well on my way to OM status very soon.

I received the Judges Award from Oni-Con 2013. My neck seal was being difficult. I will replace it.
