A Yellow and Red Assassin Bucket
« on: Jul 30, 2010, 11:27 PM »
I'm getting started on my bucket and I've been trying to work out some color schemes...

Let me know what you all think!

I like choice number 4:

 ;D

But if not #4, then I'll go with #1.

I personally feel that #3 has the most eye-catching usability.  The yellow on the t-port is a bit bright, but fits well in the cheek recesses.

Three for me.

As I look over the color schemes a little more, I find myself second-guessing my pattens...

Does it make sense to block all the colors out in this manner?

I like 3, but if you found a nice red polarized visor, 2 would be sick!

Not really, just depends on how long you wear your bucket for.  For instance I have a Dark Green #5 welding shield for my visor and if I wear it for 3+ hours, everyone looks purple when I take it off.  Also you can't see the color red when you have it on.  I've tried mirrored red and didn't have much of a problem with it.

I'm only planning my armor right now (just ordered plates, and about to order my assassin bucket) but I've work many different colored shooting glasses when my command goes to the range.  Yellow makes the world a brighter place, green does just what he said, red just makes the world look hotter....  if you really want to know an exaggerated reality of what any color would be, get a tranparent plastic of that color, and look through it... when designed for a lens or anything, the color won't be as intense.... unless of course you use something like a welding shield, that's cool, by the way, just WAY too dark for me.

Sev,

I learned that "bikerchick", here on the Mercs has visors for the assassin helmet.  They are very cost effective, and I plan on getting one once I return from CV.  Send her a PM.

Sev, bikerchick on the Trading Station forum here does sell pre-cut, formed/shaped drk green (like the ones boba used in the movie) for all the M-DSB helmets.

If you're tinting it further, you may just want to buy a plexiglass sheet, trace, cut, and tint yourself. Putting tint on the welding visor might make it hard to see through.

Alright, we have an update!

After many careful hours and putting up with the AZ heat, I finally have the buy'ce cut out and ready for paint.

I managed to find some graffiti styple spray paint at Arizona Art Supply in exactly the colors I need.

I'll post pictures later on today for constructive criticism.

I like it so far.  Wish I wasn't in the middle of the pacific, maybe stuff would get to me faster and I could actually start my build!
