Hi guys,
I’d like some feedback please. YES, it was a nerf gun.
I’ve cut a ton of plastic off this thing, and added a bit. It’s completely gutted.

It’s not finished yet, either.
Since taking these pics, I’ve cut the bottom of the magazine of at an angle (front side shorter than back side). Waiting for glue to dry.

I really should have posted a wip on this, but got a bit carried away. You live and learn.

It does look VERY well done but, with respect and in my personal opinion, it has an aesthetic more at home in Halo or Destiny than Star Wars. Maybe it's the stock? A more tapered one, even like an M-16 stock or a post/buttplate set up would make it more "Swarzy". Everything forward of the grip is absolutely great, though.

I’m seriously considering changing it to a drum mag (think Westar M5), and am adding a fore grip on that end flat area before the barrel.
The fore grip is a definite, so we’ll see if that addition changes the overall look much.  :)

Another thing to consider is that most weapons in the Star Wars universe have a worn and weathered look to them. Depending on the look of your kit, grunging it up a bit might really help shake the "Halo/Destiny" vibe Anansi mentioned.

I do have to agree though, in terms of craftsmanship, this thing is a beauty.

Totally. It will receive a good black wash and a lot of weathering before it’s done.

Ok, I’m modifying it further.
Will add a swarzy stock, and a drum mag.

Just have to decide on the look of the stock.

Fore grip is in the process.




Two 100mm PVC  caps glued together for the drum mag.

Be careful not to take out too much.  You could also try poplar wood.  It's relatively strong, and light.

I used two layers of pine, sandwiching some 6mm MDF to give me the right thickness.
In hindsight, I could have done without the MDF.

I was going to scratch build, but picked up one of those full scale toy 1911 pistols as a base. I figured it is the right
style for a cool in-universe mod.
