I don't have a link, but it's a German G3 mag plastic pouch. I think it's from the '80. You can find it pretty easy.

Yep, cool pouches, they’ll work. Basic requirement is it just can’t look like or be a cell phone pouch, and that definitely isn’t for phones

Well, just ordered 4 of those pouches and...

They're much bigger than i thought. I think i'll end up using 3 of them. Not big deal as they were really cheap.

It has been a while, but work is going on. And here are the pouches before and after

I just painted them with one hand of black and sanded some paint away. In a couple of spots it just came away but hey, natural weathering right?

So, little update to my soft part wip. I found these cobra buckles, that perfectly match my ammo belt buckle. Austrialpin cobra buckle are pretty expensive, but i found these chinese clones, and bought 12 for the price of 2 originals.

That is a seriously cool girthbelt. I bought cotton 1/4in rope, but I think paracord will be a much better option doing a braid/twist pattern like you did.

Thanks Vod! Actually cotton rope was my first choice, as it was cheaper and easier to find. The main problem was that i couldn't find a color that i liked, so i decided for paracord. I think that after weathering and distressing, paracord or rope will not make big difference.

Looks great.  I just ordered some 550 paracord to make my girth belt.   How did you do the weave? Especially at both buckle ends?  The ends are what I'm most unsure about.
Also who did the holster rig?  I'm after something similar for the RSKF-44.

The girth belt is just a warp and weft design.



I just screwed down the buckles on the wooden board, tied with a knot one end of the paracord and then made the horizontal part. Once I was done, I started the vertical part, passing up and down on every string.



Easier done than said. Hope I was able to explain myself.

Also who did the holster rig?  I'm after something similar for the RSKF-44.

I did it myself (my first leather work), but now I replaced the white sintra buckle with a proper metal imperial buckle. If I can help, let me know.

So, wasn't entirely happy with my vest and I decided for another solution. So I copied took inspiration from trashcanmando's tutorial, but in a much simpler way (not that good at sewing). Heavy inspiration from Cal Kestis.
I found this wonderful pull up leather



thought that it would save me years of weathering and decided to make the vest.
