We just had our 3rd Annual Inter-Regional Armor Party or IRAP on July 12th. We had 12 clans in attendance from a total of 3 regions. We had somewhere between 90 and 100 attendees at the venue for the event. We also had members from our sister clubs, the 501st and the Rebel Legion come out in support, as well as beginning their own mando journeys. This event is a full 8 hours of building, eating, connecting with others, and great photo ops with others from the club. There were tons of free items, raffles, swag handouts, and an event shirt available for purchase.
This event is very special to me as the host and originator. A couple years ago this started more with the intent of being a regional event, however some great friends from Nexu clan made their way over for the first one of these breaking the regional border. After that we ran with the idea of breaking down borders, physically and metaphorically. Ever since the first was a success we have extended the invitation to any member of the club who can make it here. The past two years we have had people from as far as Cerar and Wampa in attendance. It is truly awesome to see so many people in one place all working to the same goal, building armor, and building relationships. I always open up my home to attendees to stay, and my yard for camping typically housing 12-20 people. When you attend this event, you are treated as family, because you are family.
In the coming years we intend to continue to expand the event in our new space. There is parking for hundreds of vehicles, a playground for kids, many restrooms, and tons of space to spread out and work. There are already some ideas for expanding this further with the possibility of having a 2-day event, adding food trucks and more. The sky is the limit with where this can go, and what this can grow into. Whatever we end up doing to grow, I can wholeheartedly say you do not want to miss the 4th Annual IRAP in 2026. Keep your eyes out for updates, as we are already starting to look at selecting the dates.
