Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico on September 20, 2017.  Several members of MMCC’s Puerto Rican chapter, Jur’akaan Clan lost their homes and possessions in the powerful winds and rain created by the storm.

Beginning in October of 2017, MMCC launched an internal fund-raising campaign that raised $3,000 in relief funds for local members affected by the storm.  Since 2012, MMCC has maintained it’s “Member Support Fund” which provides assistance to members who have been affected by a life-altering tragedy.

On April 6th, 2018, MMCC Founder & CEO Tom Hutchens/Mandalore the Uniter, and MMCC Archivist Ken Applegate arrived in Puerto Rico to personally present the raised funds to Jur’akaan Clan members.  Festivities were held by Jur’akaan Clan, 501st Legion Puerto Rico Garrison, and Rebel Legion Puerto Rico Base to celebrate the spirit of “STAR WARS family” between all the local organizations, and several presentations were made by the various groups.
